Hospitality Supervisor


A. Mission and Scope

The purpose of this position is to assist the Hospitality manager in the general operations of all Habitat Facilities with specific attention to areas of registration, safety, security, housekeeping, and maintenance in an effective, efficient, and safe manner to ensure that guests, trainees, and employees receive a quality experience that reflects the Mission, Vision, and Spirit of the USSRC.


B. Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED required.


Work Experience:  Must possess strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.  Strong customer service skills required.  Prefer 2+ years customer service experience.


Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


C. Physical Requirements of the Position
  1. Sitting for periods of time (2-3hrs) conducting business over the telephone and operating computer terminal.
  2. Walking, climbing (stairs) to access other departments.
  3. Carrying, Lifting items up to 30lbs waist high.
  4. Sight, Reading, Wrist Movements, Feeling to operate computer terminal, handle documents, create reports.
  5. Talking, Hearing to instruct employees and assist guests and service providers in person and over the telephone.

G.       Position Duties
  1. Safety/Security
    1. Meet or exceed the standards for the safety, security, hygiene, and emotional welfare of guests, trainees, and employees.
    2. Meet or exceed the expectations of the Hospitality Manager for coordinating, with Security, the development and implementation of severe weather policies and procedures for the Habitat facilities.
    3. Works closely with staff in Facilities, Custodial, Safety, Security and Camp Operations.
    4. Assist in writing Habitat safety and health programs and policies.
    5. Assist in developing annual Habitat safety and health goals.
    6. Participates in company occupational safety and health committees.


  1. Customer Service
    1. Meet or exceed the expectations of the Hospitality Manager for development and implementation of policies and procedures for housing, registration, and discipline for Habitats I, II, III.
    2. Provide effective and efficient support for camp registration, room check-in and check-out, and special events held in Habitats I, II, and III.
    3. Assist in coordinating a custodial work plan to ensure that Habitats I, II, and III are systematically cleaned in a timely manner.
    4. Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and the appearance of common areas, and performs regular inspections of resident areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
    5. Inspects storage rooms, utility and janitorial closet, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
    6. Coordinates with Hospitality Manager and Chief RA to monitor resident moves and responds to resident requests promptly and according to policies.
    7. Coordinates repair needs with Facilities Manangement.


  1. Chaperone Concierge (in Abscense of Hospitality Manager)
    1. Ensure customer needs are met and assist with problems.
    2. Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
    3. Coordinate special events or special projects as assigned.
    4. Arrange transportation needs for guests when needed.
    5. Provide information on the geographical area. Suggest site-seeing locations and arrange tours.
    6. Coordinate off-campus housing arrangements when needed


  1. Lodging Administration
    1. Ensure that guests have adequate supplies both within their rooms and in the public areas that they visit.
    2. Receive and act on guest complaints relating to the state of their rooms or public areas.
    3. Make recommendations about improvements.
    4. Systematically inspect Habitat facilities for cleanliness and maintenance concerns and ensure that arrangements are made for any corrections in an accurate and timely manner.


  1. Chief Resident Advisor Leadership
    1. Assist in the supervision of the residence, responding to all requests and emergencies during duty hours.
    2. Assist, as requested, in the handling of all emergency situations (e.g., fire, health, safety).
      1. Supply Kit Checks / Reorder Requests
    3. Report maintenance repairs and custodial needs received from residents to Hospitlaity Manager.
    4. Monitor Habitat conditions and fill out maintenance and custodial orders as necessary.
    5. Perform monthly key inventory
    6. Incoming RAs setups and assignments
      1. RA Survey Upkeep / Data Collection
      2. Set Up RA Mailbox
      3. RA Pairings as needed based on space
      4. Room Assignments
      5. Key Assignments
      6. Airport / Bus Station Pick-Up can be delegated to Head RA as needed
    7. Outgoing RA
      1. Room Inspection
      2. Room Sign-off
      3. Key Collection
      4. Airport / Bus Station Drop-Off can be delegated to Head RA as needed
    1. On-Call
      1. Create On-Call Lists
      2. Post On-Call Lists
      3. Enforce On-Call through communication with Head RAs
      4. Sign-Off on On-Call swaps
    2. Ward Room / DMZ
      1. Create Ward Room Cleaning Duties List
      1. Enforce Ward Room Cleaning
      2. Create DMZ Cleaning Duties List
      3. Enforce DMZ Cleaning
      4. Check Laundry Rooms/Areas for Cleanliness
    1. Room Inspections
      1. Habitat Room Inspections will be performed by Head RAs
      1. Habitat Room Re-Inspections will be performed by Chief RA
    1. Other
      1. Coordinate,Plan & Implement with Head RAs
        1. RA Appreciation Activities
        2. Plan & Implement RA Trips
